SCROLL DOWN

Benevolence

Benevolence

We seek to serve the Garden City area with free, hands-on practical help and in doing so, to make the invisible God visible.

We are commanded in Scripture to love our neighbor and care for the poor.

Through these various ministries, we aim to serve people in a loving and free way that demonstrates that God loves them and cares for them.

Food Pantry

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry helps to serve the needs of individuals and families by providing a box of groceries and a time to talk and pray with volunteers.

If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday. -Isaiah 58:10

This is the truth that drives us. Our desire is to give food to those in need with unconditional love and acceptance so that they may see God’s light in the actions of our volunteers here at the pantry.

Garden O'Feedin'

Garden O'Feedin'

The Garden O’ Feedin’ supports the Food Pantry with fresh, naturally-grown vegetables and berries, and provides hands-on garden experience, home garden help, family garden space, information, classes, seeds, veggie starts, compost, and more to the community.

At the heart of our call to follow Jesus as his disciples is the call to love our neighbor and care for the poor, making the invisible God visible.

The Garden O’ Feedin’ nourishes the body with wholesome produce, and feeds the soul through peace, tranquility, and hands-on contact with God’s creation.

Hours & Location

April through October

Wednesdays, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

Saturdays, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Feeding God's Children

Feeding God's Children

We are teams of people who use Sunday afternoons to feed those who are in need of a meal in Julia Davis Park.

We serve hot meals all year long, and in all types of weather. Along with serving a hot meal, we minister to those we serve and our brothers and sisters serving along side us.

This ministry provides people the opportunity to be the literal Hands and Feet of Jesus. By loving on people without judgement, we show that Jesus is available to everybody no matter what their situation.

Providing a free meal outside the walls of a church allows God to reach people that would otherwise never hear or see the message of Jesus.

Hours & Location

Every Sunday @ 12:45 PM

We meet in the Barnabas Center after Second Service at 12:45 PM.

We typically leave for Julia Davis Park around 1:30 PM and return to clean up. We are usually all done by around 4:00 PM.

FAQs

Can families be part of this ministry?

Yes! We love families to make serving a part of their weekend. Children are always welcome; there is a job for everyone!

Can I serve multiple times a month?

Yes; however, we like to see team members really commit to just one Sunday a month. By choosing one Sunday, team members can create relationships with one another as well as build a committed team. Serving once a month also helps prevent burnout and allows time to serve in other ministries.
