Sunday Bulletin: December 4, 2016

Events Calendar

Men’s Breakfast

Come enjoy some breakfast and socialize with other fathers, sons, and brothers on Saturday, December 10, at 8:00am in the Gym. There is no cost! But please RSVP at vineyardboise.org/signup so we can prepare enough BACON! There is no childcare, but young men are welcome to join their dads. Email Drew Zimmerman with any questions.

Christmas is coming!

To prepare our hearts for Christmas this year, Vineyard Boise will be launching a four-week Advent series, “Come, Let Us Adore Him!” on Sunday, November 27. A booklet of personal devotions that includes a list of suggested individual and group activities will be made available on Sunday, November 20. This holiday season doesn’t have to be another rat race. Step out of the traffic. Take a long, loving look at our Lord through the four movements of the Advent season – hope, love, joy and peace. Come, let us adore Him.

No Coffee Bar during Christmas Services

With our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services being brief, and knowing most people will want to get to their other Christmas events quickly, we’ve decided to give those ‘coffee elves’ in Holy Grounds the weekend off! We will be back, bright and happy, ready to serve on New Year’s Day Sunday!

Christmas Service Times

Let’s come together to adore Him on Christmas weekend. You can choose between a Saturday Christmas Eve service at 5PM or a Sunday morning Christmas service starting at 11AM. Both services will be identical, will last about an hour, will be geared towards the whole family (childcare will be available for ages five and under), and will include a special Christmas communion.

Christmas Turkey Donations

The pantry plans to provide a Christmas dinner for over 350 families this year. With your help, we can make this happen. Purchase a frozen turkey and bring it back next Sunday, November 27th. We’ll have the Vineyard Boise trailer ready to collect all the turkeys after each service. For more information email Ian Sargeant.

Christmas Ornaments

This year the pantry hopes to give out around 350 Christmas turkey dinner food boxes. In those boxes we’d like to bless the families with a new or handmade Christmas ornament (no bigger than a shoebox). If you’d like to help make Christmas extra special for these families by providing a Christmas ornament please email Kathy.

No December Baby Dedications

Due to the last Sunday of December being Christmas, we will not be having baby dedications in December. If you would like to have your baby dedicated the last Sunday of January (January 25th) during second service let us know by filling out today’s vMail or emailing Maureen at the church office.

Whittier Christmas Box Wrapping

Each year we have the honor of providing a gift for each student and faculty member at Whittier Elementary School. If you would like to be part of making this happen by helping with wrapping you can sign up below or visit the counter in Heritage Hall.

The dates and movies for this year are June 17 (Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens), July 15 (Inside Out), and August 19 (Zootopia).

To help you determine whether each movie is appropriate for you and your family, we’ve included links to the PluggedIn movie reviews for each movie below.

Volunteers Needed!

Ephesians 6.10-24 | When Air Becomes Breath (Week 13)

We offer this podcast because we believe studying the Bible is a key part to being connected to God and others. Join us!

The world can be dark, lonely, and hopeless. Too often God seems absent, invisible, as our ever-increasing day-to-day problems crowd out His voice, and blind us to His love and compassion. We’re opening the windows, turning on the light, offering hope, in every moment and in every situation.
