We offer art tables in our sanctuary during church services for visual/kinetic learners to process the sermon, and we have a large art studio where we host a wide variety of art workshops for beginners to advanced, as well as low-cost Open Studio during the week to bless people of our city.
Our church has groups for culinary artists and writers, and we hold quarterly visual art exhibits that are open for anyone in the community to enter.
We love our city by providing group art expressions at local universities, low-income clinics, and addiction-crisis counseling retreats, as well as ministering to and encouraging individual artists in our city. Much more is on our website at vineartsboise.org.
The arts are an ongoing dialog in which people explore what it means to be human.
The Church should have much to offer in this conversation, but for the last few hundred years most churches have not contributed to this conversation through the realm of the visual arts. In fact we’ve condemned or neglected numerous disciplines of beauty, artificially fragmenting the legacy of our creative Father which should have been ours all along. As a result, generations of Christians have been deprived from personally connecting spiritual truth through the astounding depth and revelation art has to offer.
Creativity dwells in the deepest, innermost part of our being, that central place of epiphany, metaphor, connection, and revelation. This place of creativity is also the place where we experience our most intimate relationship with the living Christ. To neglect that place is to live disconnected and fragmented as an artist. Growing simultaneously in the realm of faith and art is cause to shout for joy!
As we’ve watched dozens of artists come out of the woodwork from isolation, this ministry has for many become a second home where they can rest in the love of artistic community while growing in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Join us on the west side of the sanctuary at our art tables for adults, where you can privately worship and pray to God through color and texture using simple art supplies we provide. Privately process the sermon or scripture through your art or writing, responding visually to what the Lord speaks to you. Our art tables are completely silent, with no talking or noise of materials. Anyone under age 14 MUST have a parent sitting at the art tables directly with them — absolutely no exceptions.
A place to relax and freely create! We are closed the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. During summer months we reduce our hours; visit vineartsboise.org to see our schedule.
We offer a wide variety of classes every year! Visit vineartsboise.org to see upcoming art workshops and book studies.
Art exhibits are held quarterly at Vineyard Boise and involve our visual artists and culinary group, as well as congregation members who are new to creating, non-members of our church, and people of all ages -- in other words, everyone! Pick up your entry packet inside the VineArts Gallery inside the church, or visit vineartsboise.org to see upcoming exhibit themes and how to enter.
This is a workshop-based exploration of various writing methods and topics for both published and unpublished authors.
This is a gathering of artistic and creative visual artists, photographers, poets and writers, fabric artists, musicians, dancers, performers, and culinary artists who are disciples of Christ. We meet mostly on even-numbered months and choose a Sunday afternoon right after church lets out, starting around 12:30pm. Bring a main dish to share as we converse about what it means to love God and love people through the arts.
